I am so excited for the movie Twilight to come out. But I'm torn...on the one hand I'm really excited to see how they turn the book into a movie, how the characters look, how the special effects turn out, if it follows the book or has other tangents, etc. On the other hand, I also don't want the producers and actors to ruin the book for me. I have yet to watch a movie after reading the book where I liked the movie better. I always like the way my brain develops the characters, settings, and story. When someone else tells me how it's supposed to be I don't like it.
So, that's my dilemma! I really can't wait though. I've re-read the book just so I know what is done differently. I already disagree with how some of the characters look in the movie verses what I think they should look like. To name a few:
Alice--I think she should be smaller with really really short spiky hair unlike her trailer pics
Edward--I pictured him more gorgeous in a timeless fashion. Think Patrick Dempsey with blondish hair. I also pictured him a little bigger (more muscular and taller)
Rosalie--sure she's pretty in the movie, but I really pictured a timeless character like Scarlett Johansson (but prettier)
Emmet--Really! He should be as big as the black guy in Green Mile.
They did do a fantastic job in casting Bella though. She's kinda bratty in real life but we'll just overlook that as long as she does the character justice in the movie. Jacob also is good. I just can't wait for him to grow up a little and not look so boyish. You know, since I am a Jacob fan!

I agree with you about the movie and the actors. They just can't compare with the ones I made up. Mine are better and it's o.k. I am also excited for the movie but I dont know if I can go to the midnight showing. I like Jacob, but Edwards selflessness can't be beat.
It's really hard isn't it? The expectations are so HIGH! I'm not in a hurry to see it, I'll wait and see what people say about it. Already this morning at the gym, my girlfriends were saying that they were let down. So, we'll see. I wasn't a huge fan of the books either so...
