Farpy Hatcher! (Happy New Year)
You might think we're weird, but our kids really need their sleep and since I cannot pass up an opportunity to celebrate an occasion, we pretend the New Year starts at 9pm. It's a good thing we do this because at 6:30 Belle was complaining that the new year was taking "too long" and she just wanted to celebrate it "NOW!".
We had snacks for dinner : pizza rolls, BBQ meatballs, crackers & cheese, popcorn, a veggie tray, pickles, M&M's, Reese's Pieces, sugar cookies, and don't forget the Martinellis Sparkling Cider in real glass champagne flutes. The kids had really cute top hats, 2009 necklaces and noise makers. And the highlight of the night was sparklers and M80's (really loud fireworks) in the front yard at 9 o'clock.
So, we say "Farpy Hatcher" to all. I hope 2009 brings as many wonderful memories to you as this past year did for me.

ok that is too funny! You are such fun parents. My kids would have loved that.
Where did the Farpy Hatcher come from?
Some drunken New Years Eve of Jeremy's a long long time ago. Does that explain everything? :)
I didn't even tell my kids about the Holiday. They were sound asleep by 8! We had a party cancel because of throw up and diarhea so we were also in bed at a good time. I'm not much of a New Year's Girl but is sounds like you are! Your dinner sounds yum.
